1. Introduction & Data Controller
Talenzzy is a grassroots football scouting directory connecting Nigerian academies with scouts globally. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 and best practices.
Data Controller: Talenzzy Platform, support@talenzzy.com. By using our platform, submitting player profiles, or contacting us, you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
a) Player Profiles (Submitted by Academies/Guardians): Full name, age, academy name, position, nationality, height, weight, preferred foot, coach contact name/role/phone, photo, video link, bio, achievements.
b) Academy & Contact Information: Academy name, contact person, role (Academy Director, Head Coach, Licensed Agent, Parent/Guardian), phone/WhatsApp, email via contact forms.
c) Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, time spent, for security and analytics. We use transient cache for performance.
d) Shortlist Data: Your shortlist of favorite players is stored only locally in your browser via localStorage (talenzzy_shortlist). It never touches our servers and is not shared.
3. Legal Basis (NDPR)
We process data based on: Consent (when you submit), Legitimate Interest (scouting directory operation), Contract (to provide profile visibility to scouts), and Legal Obligation (complying with Nigerian law).
4. How We Use Your Information
To display verified player profiles in the directory, enable scout discovery and filtering, allow direct WhatsApp inquiries to academies, manage verification (Verified badge), feature top talents (Pick of the Week), respond to contact requests, improve platform security and prevent spam via honeypot and rate limiting.
5. Minors & U13-U20 Data
Many players are under 18. We require submission by a Parent/Guardian, Academy Director, Head Coach, or Licensed Agent who confirms they have authority and consent. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children without guardian involvement. Parents may request review or deletion at any time via support@talenzzy.com. We will remove a minor profile within 72 hours of verified request.
6. Sharing & Disclosure
Player profiles are public by design to scouts. We do not sell your data. We share only: (a) Public directory data to visitors/scouts, (b) With service providers (TFHost hosting, email delivery) under confidentiality, (c) When required by Nigerian law or court order, (d) WhatsApp links you voluntarily click to contact academies.
7. Data Retention
Player profiles remain published until academy requests removal or profile is flagged. Contact messages are retained for 24 months for support. Technical logs for 12 months. Shortlist data remains on your device until you clear it. You may request deletion anytime.
8. Security Measures
We implement file type validation (JPG/PNG/WebP only via MIME check), 5MB limit, scoped filename randomization, nonce verification, honeypot anti-spam, IP rate limiting (120 seconds), WebP conversion to reduce payload, and transient caching. No system is 100% secure, but we follow industry best practices.
9. Your Rights Under NDPR
You have the right to: Access your data, Rectify inaccuracies, Erase (deletion), Object to processing, Data portability, Withdraw consent. To exercise, email support@talenzzy.com with subject Data Request. We respond within 30 days. For academy data, verification may be required.
10. Cookies & Local Storage
We use only essential localStorage for shortlist and pagination preference (talenzzy_infinite). No tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy and seek consent where required.
11. International Transfers
Our primary hosting is in Nigeria via TFHost. Scouts may access from outside Nigeria. By submitting, you consent to global visibility of player profiles for scouting purposes.
